Welcome to the latest World Cup vlog, covering everything from the final group match against the United States to a preview of the quarter-final against France. The Algeria game and team tactics are discussed at length, as I try my best to get everything covered in less than half an hour. In the hand it would finish at a not too shabby twenty-two minutes and eighteen seconds.
Of course, this video is a little longer than usual on account of my not being able to get one done after the US game. Still, it gives you enough time to enjoy your dinner at the same time.
The Nationaltrikot featured in this video is of course the chessboard or – as the designers would have us believe – “eagle” pattern worn during the 1994 World Cup in the United States. Thanks to Travis Timmons for suggesting this one.
Interesting vlog Chef. I was somewhat surprised at Jogi’s starting eleven. Do you think he has given in to media pressure? Schweinsteiger and Khedira both starting in midfield; Lahm at right back and Klose up front 🙂 I thought Hummels was great, I still have doubts about Höwedes. Disappointed with some of the wayward passing though. I thought France were quite poor (but this could be credit to Germany). I was willing Germany to get a second goal (it reminded me of the ’86 WC semi with the French attacking and Völler killing the game off in the dying seconds). I hope Germany doesn’t get knocked out at the semi final stage for the third time in succession 🙁 I’m sure I heard Jonathan Pearce claim that Germany had played in 10 semi finals. I make it 12 (and now thirteen):-)
